I am impressed with the aggressive start of your efforts to claim the Farm of J.C. Hyde for the future of Cobb County. The community support is obvious from the attendance at information meetings and the amount of coverage the Marietta Daily Journal has provided for your group's efforts.
The Cobb County Commissioners have been good friends to The Cobb Land Trust in our various conservation efforts and I am happy to see that Friends of Hyde Farm has also earned their support and trust.
I have personally grubbed sweet potatoes on J.C.'s farm and recommend the activity to anyone who wants a hint of what farming life was like. That is, after all, what this property has to offer our community. It is a long, last look at what life was about in this Cobb County - a living view of history that we rarely have an opportunity to see.
